Coach Ron's Coaching Philosophy

It seems like in today’s world everyone is looking for that magic pill or get rich formula and that we’re chasing that ever elusive “make me faster with as little work as possible.” I'll be upfront with you and tell you, you won’t find it here either. What you will find is a certified coach with over 25 years of coaching experience and over 35 years or running and racing at a very high level.
My philosophy is based on my history of coaching runners of all abilities, from those starting out and running their first 5k to putting runners into the Olympic Marathon trials and everyone in between. What I do offer is a training program that is based on the best training principals from the top coaches and runners that I've met to my own tried and true formulas of success. I believe in preparing someone to run to the best of their ability come race day.
Just “you” - Why go to a magazine or the internet and download a training program that doesn’t account for who you are, what your running background might be, how much time you have to spend training, what type of paces you should running and a program where you don’t have the opportunity to talk to a coach and ask questions?
Patience Grasshopper - Success comes to those who don’t rush it. Patience. Before you earn the right to run an interval workout, you need to develop your aerobic system which will allow you to have the strength and confidence to become a better more efficient runner down the road and allow you to achieve your goals.
What’s your goal? - We will work together on YOUR specific race goal and plan.
Accountability - My job is to take as much thinking about your training out of your hands as possible. My training program is easy to read and understand and without a lot of high-tech training jargon. I include your daily and weekly mileage runs along with the specific interval / tempo / hill workouts along with the exact paces that each run should be completed at to help you achieve your goals.
Are we having fun yet? - That has always been one of my main motto’s. Most of us run for the pure joy and thrill we get from discovering something inside us. So I’ll challenge you, but “Are we having fun yet”?
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals very soon, whether it's just helping you get that first foot out the door to run your first mile or if it's your goal to qualify for Boston in your next marathon.
......See you on the roads
